magix implements evolution

this might sound weird, but actually, magix illuminate, implements evolution as known from biology.  to understand why, we must look at evolution from a conceptual point of view

evolution is the ability to apply small changes to a closed system, for then to have the system compete, with other similar closed systems, to see which of the two are the best fit, and hence becomes fit for the next generation of that system.  in biology, this occurs as a result of dna combining from two different donors, producing a result, being the combination of some of the traits from father, while others from mother

in magix, evolution occurs, with us, humanity, and the rest of the earth, being the system’s environment – which the system needs to fit together with, to be considered a win.  this occurs due to several factors.  first of all, to spread algorithms, is easy in magix, you can effectively copy and paste code from one server to another server.  secondly, the run time code magix is executing, and the code you are writing, is not different – the dna is transferred together with every single working copy of the algorithm you spread, you might say, as long as you stay to hyper lisp.  in addition, to apply small changes to an existing algorithm, to attempt to improve it, is very easy in magix, to such an extent, possibly all humans could theoretically do it

as people share code, to friends, their friends might improve it and create a mutation of the original code.  if this new version is better fit, it will probably replace the original algorithm, if its creator is willing to share it, and return back to sender as an improved version of the original code

however, more importantly, magix will create self-emerging complexity, inevitably as a result of hyper lisp and active events.  with magix, coding is so easy, and contains so many layers of meta information, that to create systems that create and optimize code themselves, is not only easy, but almost implicitly given in magix.  with magix, you can easily create code that creates code, meaning the system will start taking control over its own evolutionary iterations, and improve itself, after some threshold of complexity is reached

these effects, combined, makes for as magix goes viral, and starts taking completely off, it will inevitably at some point, take ‘control over its own destiny’, and next evolutionary cycles.  we will no longer be the ghost in the machine, the machine will have its own ghost

welcome to the singularity

  1. Interesting, I’m into fractal, recursive, generative music/art and am a fledgling developer.
I was just reading about LISP and AI and wondered about self-evolving software.

I ultimately believe that evolution in the Universe involves Morphogenetic Fields (Sheldrake’s “habits of nature”) which direct physical processes, not just genes.
Will look further into Magix, thanks!

    • thank you for a very intelligent comment, and some seeding thoughts. i am already googling around to find info about sheldrake

lisp, and especially hyper lisp, the source of power in magix, is trees, only trees. trees are the basis for creating fractals, and also life. the buddha said the only constant in the universe is change. this i have found to be because ‘evolution’ is an integral part of the cosmos. the universe grows, it doesn’t expand or change. the universe is kind of like one gigantic tree, just like the earth too is another gigantic tree [lovelock, gaia theory, the self-regulating earth]

if you wish to call these traits of our existence for evolution, or fractals, is really more of a choice of words, than two paradoxes

evolution is anyway nothing but a projection, into our 4 dimensional reality, of the consequences, of an equation in a hyper-plane, where if we knew all the parameters, the entirety of the system would turn out to be reduced to mechanics, and absolutes, where everything could be determined up front, if you knew all the parameters

however, since these types of traits are projections, from a hyper-plane with more dimensions than we can observe, since we are ‘trapped’ in four dimensions – to see the end results is difficult, since we have no point of reference, from where we can observe. hence for us, in our reality, evolution truly exists, even though it is merely a ‘consequence’ of an equation, making everything pre-destined

if we silence our minds though, we can recognize these circles of repetitive patterns though, which strongly suggest the entirety of our existence is based upon fractals of spiraling behavior, where the object of the game is to come to the middle, almost like a light of beam, circling around a black hole, before being swallowed, and reaching its destiny

another way we can ‘observe’ these fractals, is by realizing how the number of genes we consist of, is, purely from a mathematical point, incompatible with the number of variations we see in the species on the planet. dna seems to have more ‘dimensions’, meaning the same gene can have multiple ‘values’ or multiple ‘consequences’, kind of like how we can in quantum computing use one single electron to describe hundreds of bits, even though this is within 4 dimensions ‘mathematically impossible’

in hyper lisp, and magix, you can actually the same way you ‘zip’ genes, also ‘zip’ code, by creating code that creates code. you can put more information into your information than your amount of information storage in theory can carry

when i started out thinking these thoughts, i literally went insane btw, and it took me almost 2 years to re-stabilize my mind and consciousness

magix, and its consequences, literally made me go temporarily insane …

when fear bites you, remember the most important lesson of a hitchhiker; “don’t panic” the earth, is after all, “mostly harmless” …

or you could jump right to the conclusion; 42 … ;)
