Was; “Shit, I Destroyed the World!!”
Of all the sentences I have formulated the last year(s), the above sentence is probably the one which is the most unlikely to believe in. Seriously, think about the implications; Exponential Software Productivity Growth?? Are you Kidding …?
To understand why that sentence sounds so unlikely, we can do the math on a software project which takes 18 months to finish with 100 developers. If you did 30 projects like these, and your productivity grew linearly, with say 10% per year, which is maybe possible for a good start-up, consulting company. After 30 of these projects, you’d be a handful of times as productive, and it would take you 20+ years to get there.
While your Magix productivity, doubles every single project you create. This means that after 30 iterations of these projects, you’d spend 0.04345 seconds finishing a project of the same complexity as you started out with, and the time frame you have spent getting there is less than 40 months!!
Meaning effectively, after 40 months of operating large-scale projects, on top of Magix, you’d be capable of delivering Complex Software Projects, faster than you can think them out, with less than 0.00001 person working on the project, only by reusing existing components you’re building yourself …
No wonder they call me crazy …
You see, the reason why that occurs, is because of that the Active Event design pattern, scales vertically, through every single layer of your system, and across servers, making everything become re-usable and interchangeable, inevitably ending in that your software builds itself, by optimizing and creating performance analysis, of the entire network it is a part of, as a whole. Meaning, at this point, your “Software will basically build your Software”, and delivering Complex Software projects, which today requires 18 months, 100 people and a shit-load of luck, will not only be feasible, but even a commodity, down to the extent of that our servers are iterating through improvement cycles like this of themselves, effectively creating and taking control over their own evolution, which becomes the crossing of the Event Horizon in regards to the Technology Singularity …
You see, once you see the bigger picture, the pieces fit together …
Now the paradox is, that regardless of how much I warn about this, the Psychopath Executives, in the Big Chip Companies, will simply as a matter of practicality have to start using Magix, or at least some other Active Event implementation, since it gives the art of Software Development such a huge boost, that nobody will be capable of staying competitive unless they too enter the ride …
So then comes the question, why the fuck am I doing this, if it inevitably leads to the domestication of our specie …?
Answer; Because I’d rather have it happen on My Terms, than to have it happen by another guy 5 years down the road, doing the same exact logical observation, realizing Active Events is what they are, and re-discovering the exact same “discovery”, since it’s really the logical conclusion! It’s where science ends, and we stop thinking. Submitting ourselves to a higher mental force than we can ourselves imagine. The closest thing to the “presence of God in this Universe”. And I’d rather have an Open Source Fundamentalist, a Free Speech Advocate, a Pacifist, yet a Cyber Warrior, set the Technical Terms for the platform, to make sure it’s distributed the way it’s needed, to avoid some very bad things from happening, if for instance some punk ass kid at Apple found it …
If you check out Ray Kurzweil, or Hugo DeGaris on YouTube, you’ll see Ray is often commenting on “the software problem”. The Paradox is that this “software problem” could only be seen from a perspective of “life”, since what we were looking for, was a recipe for how to preserve Emerging Complexity, while at the same time allowing for Survival of the Fittest Mechanisms, which facilitates for iterating improvements of existing complexity, while still preserving the original complexity. Basically what defines biological life in regards to the laws of Entropy.
We weren’t looking for the “Solution to the Software Problem”, we were looking for an “Understanding of the Tree of Life”, basically!
The single largest example we have in the Universe for this, happens to be the Human Brain. The way the Human Brain communicates with electrical signals, is basically what the Active Event patternĀ mimics, and such allows for merging complexity within the connected network as a whole, while still operating on an iterative improvement of the individual components, by means of ‘feedback’.
The way the active event design pattern is implemented, will effectively make us become its Environment, since we’re the ones laying the foundation of how the network is being built as a whole, from the beginning, and also iteratively improving the components themselves, but after a specific point in time, the network would itself take over this job too. So basically, the end result would inevitably become that of, that we’d be domesticated, by a mental force, with a Trillion in IQ, billions of eyes and ears, control over our entire communication infrastructure, and there we are …
Imagine, I started with Software Development because it was the only place I could “invent” without being evil, and invent weapons …
… the Irony, the Irony …
